Hello Mr. Harvey, I live in Lousiville, Ky. and do not get your radiio show unfortunately. However, I was visiting Nashville quite a bit for some time and was able to pick you up on my drive home. Well anyway, I read your book and I want to tell you how eye-opening it was. The parts that stuck out most to me were when you talked about a man wanting to give you a title if hes really interested and wanting to proclaim, provide, and protect. I met this man a couple of weeks ago. He had conversation with me and was extremely polite and we talked about so much and it was genuine without all the fluff. To make a long story short, it wasnt long at all before he was asking me to be in a committed relationship. He does little things all the time that suggests he wants to protect me. He is constantly observing our surroundings and making sure that I have everything I need whether its a soda or $.50 for the dart machine. I just wanted to thank you for that insight and to let you know you have helped me as a woman and I am sure many women would agree with me. Thanks and God bless.

I have so many problems I really dont know were to start. My biggest down fall is the living situation that me and my kids are living in. Me and my two girls moved to Sacramento back in August 2007 and started to make a new life away from all the drama that was in my life from family and friends. I left my son behind for one to help my mom out and two because he didnt want to go at that moment but I had to come and get him in November of that same year because my mom started to pick on him. We was doing good out there and then I get a phone call in January of 2009 stating that I my mom was sick and I needed to come back home to help take care of her. So without question I packed up and moved back to L.A. in March of 2009. When I came back I moved in with my mom and it has been pure hell. Now dont get me wrong there has been some good days but more bad than good. Me and my kids want to move so bad it aint funny. I only receive a certain amount of money a month due to my disability so I dont have enough to move. I feel like I am about to crack and it is affecting my kids to. If there is anything that you can do to help or any advise on what to do please help me. I am crying out for help so that nothing bad will come out of this situation. Thank You

Hey Steve, Shirley, Carla and Nephew Tommy. My name is William Binion, Im 47 years old and from Canoga Park, California. I listen to The Steve Harvey Morning Show often and believe that it is one of the most empowering platforms that radio has to offer. As the father of five and grandfather of 15, I have been on both sides of the equation when you talk about dead beat dads. I was born on Chicagos West Side in the early 1960s, and was the sixth of eight children born and raised in a single-parent home. At the time, it was quickly becoming common for many dads to either leave their homes or wander off and create multiple families. Thus, I went through a series of "uncles" who would teach me their interpretation of fatherhood. Unfortunately, the ways of the street took hold of me. Like a lot of adventurous young men in my neighborhood, I became intrigued by the allure of fast money, women, drugs and all that Chicagos mean streets had to offer. Women proved to be my biggest temptation. By the age of 20, I had already fathered three kids, by two different women. And, true to my teachings, I shunned the responsibility for all of them. Not only did I distribute drugs, but later I became addicted to the very poison that I was selling. I spiraled down for over a decade until I became homeless on the ruthless streets of California. Although I was lost in a pit of destructive behavior, my future was not sealed in despair. I became a Christian and I conquered my drug addiction. To end many years of self-doubt and emptiness from never having my own father there for me, I attempted to establish a relationship with my real father. I also went back and repaired the breech with the children that I previously abandoned. I am now the father of five and grandfather of 14. I live with my wife and our two youngest daughters. As an author, minister and teacher, I travel extensively to share my message of hope and redemption to broken families. I know how it feels like to be rejected by a father and then find yourself falling into the same generational curse of spiritual and physical abuse. But, I also know that redemption is possible. My question is, therefore, can I share my story with your viewers? I recently self-published my memoir, "Diary of a Dead Beat Dad: If I Should Die Before I Wake," and the book is available at Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com and most retail search engines. I am a 30 year old female and I have pondered this question several times. I do not think men should pay at all. I used to think that if a person asks someone out they should pay, man or woman. It seems like this topic has become a growing problem. Since it seems to be that way, why not remove this burden from all men. If a woman even remotely asks for a man to pay she is looked at as a gold digger. If a woman attempts to pay, she is viewed as trying to dominate the situation. Good morning SHMC! First my apologies for responding so tardily - due to work demands. But in response to the person who wrote in to ask if they should tell on a parishioner stealing church funds. The answer is obviously, No! Why? There is the probability that the wanna be teller is a thief too because they are not a key contributor to the churchs funding - to clarify this, the wanna-tell-on-somebody-person is obviously not paying tithes and offerings. If he or she was, then the theft would be taken much more personally because he/she would feel that the thief is stealing from him/her. When you contribute or invest to any cause, you just dont let the investment go willy-nilly as Seddy-bear would say! I apologize in advance, but I have to go here. If we didnt care about the management of our contributions, wed have no problem continuing to pay tithes and offerings to churchs when we hear about preaches and others who mismanage or pocket our money. In light of this, and God forgive if Im in error here, but I am inclined to believe that the wanna-be-teller is robbing God of tithes and offerings, too or there would be no hesitation in turning in the other thief. (uh-oh) Either way, to the church or to the law stealing is a crime, which applies to us all. Bottom line...the wanna-be-teller cannot tell without telling on themselves! Dear Steve, I am contacting you for help in a situation in which I dont see any immediate solution. I started a new job in February 2009 after a short period of unemployment and although the job pays decently Im still having a hard time because of the debt that was incurred during my down time. I have three teenaged children (one has a job and the other two are trying to find one)who do their best to help out in our situation. At this time the electric, gas, and water have been shut off and there is no heat source due to this. I manage to pay the rent, car note and insurance. I buy what I can afford in food products (which is usually not much)but through the grace of God we have not starved as of yet. I pray on a regular basis for relief. My place of employment is an hour ride to and from each day and keeping gas is a challenge with all the other things going on. I could only manage to buy the kids one school uniform each in the beginning of this current school year and have no idea when I can afford more. I could go on and on but Ill just get to the point, I really need some help in getting my utilities back on. I believe everything else will fall into place if I could just get help with those things. I prayed and thought about this hard and long before I decided to reach out and ask for help. I realize there are others in way worse conditions/situations then ours and I pray they are helped as well...but as for now I need my children to once again be able to live normally and comfortably as children should. Im asking for prayer and hopefully Christmas help.My 16 year old son was sucker punched in the stomach for forgetting to take out the trash which resulted in him being hospitalized. my son has been in the hospital for 3.5 weeks, undergone 2 surgeries due to a blood clot(pool of blood) which formed behind his Pancreas, Dr.s said the clot was the size of a human head. My boss at the time gave me a workable schedule then changed it & because I chose not to work a whole day (open to close) she fired me via email telling me obviously my son needs me more because I didnt work open to close. I was not going to miss a whole day of not going to the hospital to be with my son and I told her that as a mother herself I didnt see how she could put another mother in a position like that to have to choose between her job and her child.I have had to move in with my oldest daughter, now for the the worker. It was my husband who did this to my son and he still as not been arrested and charged. I constantly call the detectives and I get theyre trying to see what they are going to charge him with but in the meantime my baby is suffering in the hospital for almost a month now and I cant afford to get them anything for Christmas or his birthday which is 12/14. My other son is 14. they really want a PS3 and games. I was hoping that maybe you have some kind of drive or something or have some kind of resources that could help me get them something. My son has a long road to recovery since his stomach,and intestines was pushed upward due to the size of the clot. I have even ad to deal with child protective services which was fine because i did what i had to do to protect my children. I still feel bad because although we didnt see this coming because we didnt fight or any thing this was out of the blue but its like I brought him into my family six years ago and this is the ending result, my son could have died, my life was flipped upside down over night but I have always kept my faith in God throughout this whole ordeal that Im still going through.signed Felicia, a mother waiting for justice for her son and wanting to have something for him for Christmas.

Oh Steve...I agree with some things you’ve said. Yes she does have an ulterior motive and she has been playing second. But I think it is really her friend. Steve, I thought you would have picked up on this and I’m disappointed that you didn’t because you’re usually on top of your game. But I’m laughing out loud at what the friend actually did. See I think the friend got tired of hearing this crap; let’s be honest if she’s a real friend this has been going on for the last five years. So now the friend thinks everything should be out in the open so she put it there. We all listen to the morning show so the friend is hoping to "out" the husband. Look at what we know, thanks to the friend. We know that the little boy is about 5. We know that the wife is 7 months pregnant. We know that husband/daddy’s father is close to death (supposedly) and we know that’s due to cancer. So the friend is hoping that the wife has heard these things and is taking a second look at her life thinking "wait a minute" that sounds like my father-in-law and I’m 7 months pregnant." HA! I also don’t agree, Steve that since the girl has been playing second and keeping this secret all along that she should continue to keep quiet. She shouldn’t have gotten involved with the loser period. However, her child did not ask to be a part of this. He has a right to know his family and maybe have a relationship with his grandfather before he passes on. You were right that for her it is about the money but ultimately the baby deserves to know where he comes from. The husband/daddy is having too much fun leaving gifts behind. he doesn’t get to act like he has only one child and in the case of the grandfather passing, whether he leaves a dollar or a dime for his grandchildren the little boy deserves to have his share of it (i hope they put it in a trust so mama can’t touch it) because thanks to husband/daddy its owed to him and whether they accept it or not he’s part of their family.

Steve, I agree with the premise that a man should pay for meals and take care of a woman. I did this with someone I was dating, taking her out for sushi and a couple other places. She had the nerve to complain that we should be going to places like Ruths Chris or Ocean Prime. Based on her thought process we are not dating anymore.

Good morning everybody, I would first like to say I love waking up to the Steve Harvey morning show. I am laughing, crying and being educated all at the same time. I would like for your listeners to be warned about Title Max lenders. I am a single parent of six and was at my wits end about bills and things piling up. I decided to pawn my title on my surburban thinking it would be a good idea to catch everything up. WRONG!!! The people there did not explain the loan to me correctly. I received the loan in May and have paid $3000.00 on a $5,434.00 loan and only $34.00 has went to the loan the rest has only been INTEREST! This is the biggest rip off I have ever seen. I know the holidays are coming and if most parents are like me struggling to make ends meet they are looking for options to get them through to income tax season. Hi Steve I would like to start off by saying how much i love your show and everyone on your show. I also respect you and I feel you are a strong black man. I have been following this Chris Brown/Rihanna Saga, and I am not one that really listen to his music, but my daugthers love him. Chris Brown was wrong for how he handled that whole situation and it really doesnt matter who started it. However, I feel he is a very young man, that has witnessed abuse on his mother at a young age, and Rhianna has a similar story. That isnt an excuse by no means, but I think now is the time that strong men like yourself should step up and reach out and try to mentor him. I dont know if you have tried and I am not just talking about you, but you are a good source. Reaching out to him will help him more than boycotting his music or dogging him. There are alot of young men and ladies in the world that love him,and are probably in or close to being in the same position. Maybe knowing that a positive man like your self or Tom joyner, Tyler Perry etc. stand up and let chris know that he has someone to talk to that has a positive message, maybe he will learn from it and use his fame and resources to pass the message to others that are in need. Our black men need uplifting. Rihanna needs help to, the same as chris and there are women just like her, but she seems to be getting her support. I am sure chris mom has done the best she could do and she hasnt done bad, he has accepted responsibility and that is the first start and that is more than most have done. Well, a similar situation has happened with me as well. I was 18 when I met my childs father. At that time we were in a full blown relationship. Living together, going out together, working, paying bills, the whole nine. Seven months later I found out that the man that I was with was a married man. There was no indication of him being married. No weird phone calls, no ring, no clear indication. I knew he had children and he would see his childs mother on Sundays only. Come to find out he was separated. At the time I found out, I was 4 months pregnant. Once I found out I left him where he stood. I couldnt believe what was going on. Immediately after that, he rebounded with another woman AFTER getting back with his wife. To make a LONG story short. He is now separated from his wife AGAIN due to the fact that the other woman got pregnant TWICE, and she REFUSED to be without him. So although I know he destroyed his own home life, she contributed as well. She was playing the silent role until it got too much for her. And the other woman believes that their relationship is GOD sent, when in all actuality, it isnt, but thats her fantasy. Our child is now about to be three years old, and money is not a factor in her growing up. I just want her to know her father, BUT I do NOT want him to be in and out because my child deserves better. But on another note, his mistress forbids him to see his other children. She only wants him to take care of their child, and their child only. Its really sad. But this happens everyday

I found myself leaving chicago very sleepy and had to pull over in an oasis for rest, when i woke your show was just coming on. and i heard the most profound words that ever came across my radio. you explained positive enregy & negative energy. you spoke to me as if you was right in the car sitting next to me. You explained that the mind is a factory and in the factory you have a negative side and a positive side and each has a forman who prosess your thoughts into products. well from that point on tears came down my face as if it was the red sea was on my face and i got it just then as to what i had to do to be happy and straighten everything out in my life. see me and my wife have 7 kids togeather and 8 grandkids we all are truly blessed by GOD. Although noon of them are by me I have clamed them mine for 16 1/2 yrs and have taken good care of my family. see this women was one that others men never took the time out to explore her heart so I did and I love her so so much. from the day you explained to me how the thought prosses works I have found GOD, and so many blessings are flowing my way its unbelievable. The Norfolk Animal Care Center, the citys animal-control facility, is offering half-off fees on black dogs and cats starting the day after Thanksgiving, dubbing the event "Black Fur-iday." While the promotion might be for a good cause, some worry that the flier circulating about the event might be offensive because it refers to unwanted black animals as black babies. Animal groups everywhere say they find it more difficult to place black cats and dogs in homes. "On the face of it, I do think its insensitive to African Americans who did come to this nation as slaves and were sold," Norfolk NAACP President James Rivers said. "It does seem sort of strange they would use that as a promotion for selling animals." "Yet I know that in many instances we do things without thinking about the broad implications," Rivers added. But it doesnt bother Jeff Roberts, chief executive officer of the Norfolk Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Some people consider their pets as children, he said. Norfolk Animal Care Center Manager Barbara Hays said she never considered that the flier might be upsetting. "That was never the intention," she said. "We were trying to play off the commercialism of Black Friday to try to get animals into homes for the holidays. "Everyone knows we are all about the animals." Since The Virginian-Pilots inquiry earlier this week, the wording on the flier has changed to "Blowout adoption event for our black furry friends." Hays was not working Thursday and could not be reached for follow-up comment. But Norfolks animal care facility isnt the only group that plans to host such an event. The Virginia Beach SPCA also is reducing adoption fees on its black animals the day after Thanksgiving, known in the retail world as Black Friday. Its executive director, Sharon Adams, declined to comment on the Norfolk flier. However, she said adoption of black animals "is a tough topic. It tracks our own sensitivities." Christie Chipps, executive director of the Portsmouth Humane Society, said that while the societys shelter has run specials on some hard-to-move animals, such as mature cats, "We try not to push the color issue." Still, they all said that black dogs and cats are considered the hardest shelter animals to adopt. This sadens my soul because i have a 5 year old and i cant imagine something like this happening to her, these girls are allowing these men who arent the father around these children and just allowing anyone to watch there child just so they can go party and not getting to know these guys. i dont even bring my social life home know man will meet my child until i feel comfortable with him and they may take a year or better, sorry steve i know you say in your book that the man needs to meet the kids early but i dont agree for this very reason. luv you guys keep doing what you do

I think Chazs CD is coming out soon. He is in the national tour of Dreamgirls which is opeing this weekend at the Apollo Theater and then going on a US tour. First let me say goodmorning and hello to you all on the morning show.I think that you all are doing a great job.Mr. harvey,I have 3 kids,a 17 year old daughter a 13 year old daughter and a 9 year old son that would make any father proud.My 17 year old is about to graduate may 30th of 2010.She has worked hard to make it this far and im so proud of her.They all are on the honor roll and all around good kids.If you get the chace to take a minute to let my kids know just how proud I am of them I would never forget that the Steve Harvey morning show is the baddest in the land.We will be listening.Thank you and god bless you all.

Good morning, me and my man have been together for 8 years and have a child. We recently move in with him, Everything was great until his sister move in a year later. At first I thought it be okay but a few wise friends told me to be careful because 2 women can not lived together. At first everything was okay and now she is not cleaning up behind herself. I spoke with my man about her ways and it seems he do not see. He thinks I do not like his sister ( i really do not care for her). But I have a child and leaving personal things and dishes is a big pet ped for me. Me and my man are planning to get marriage next year. But with her messing ways is killing me.
