I have recently began an interracial relationship, and it is not because I dislike or think there are no good Black men out there. I have never had a Black man that was good to me. They have either cheated, been abusive, or just staright lazy. And believe me when I tell you that it hurts to just write that line, but know I truly can relate to Halle Berrys statement about giving Black men a chance. Hi Steve. As condensed as possible I want to give you the run down. I have a fiancée with 4 adult children. 1 in particular I would like to dig into. I get along well with them all but the youngest daughter is the baby and she is a trip. They have alwas had this estranged relationship where one minute things are fine and the next minute they arent. If he doesnt giver her her way then she fets upset and doesnt speak to him and says very rude and disrespectful things. As long as he gives her what she wants everything is good even with jeer 2 kids. Personally I know I cant tell him not to do or care for his kids and grand children but I haw been with him 3 years an everytime he has teied to help he gets screwed. Now I have about had all that I will take with the latest incident of co-signing for a vehicle. I know that will ne an issue at some point as well as spending money to fix another vehicle and never getting it back. I have informed him that the next incident I will have to intervene because he is too gullible. Nothing wrong with helping family but when they take advantage, that WILL stop as long as I am there. Good morning Steve Harvey Morning show crew. I would like to make a comment about the 30 second phone blast for this morning. I do and dont have problems with interracial dating. If thats who you fall in love with, who am I to say that you shouldnt because of the other persons race. But I do have a problem when people, especially black men, do it because of an insecurity or weakness they have. Its hard to be successful, independent, educated black woman and not come off as intimidating for most black men. Just because I can do it on my own, doesnt mean that I wouldnt like someone to share the success with. Its possible for two strong people to be in a relationship because they are going to bring different qualities to the table that may not be other others stronger suit. But I will not settle for less or expect less while Im on an escalating path. I need someone who is going to move forward with me and not hold me back. If that in turn makes a black man choose another woman of a different race over me then so be it because we shouldnt be force to settle because he couldnt get his act together. Thats not to say that I wouldnt be willing to help along the way but you have to be willing to help yourself first. Also, 6% can sometimes appear to be a lot to some women if not many black men are marrying period. Most may be playing the field or either in prison. Theres someone for everyone, just a matter of being patient and waiting on God. Hes preparing you for him, as he preparing him for you.

Good Morning Crew: I hope this is read on the air because it is something that needs to be said once and for all. People have a right to date whomever they want, however they do not have the right to destroy the reputation of another to soothe their own egos about the choices they have made. Too many times black men contribute to the already full sea of lies about black women that have been perpetuated since slavery and Jim Crow. I could give a rat’s fanny who they marry or date; however, I do care about what they say about us because they are saying it to the woman they have chosen and she perpetuates the lie that we are mad at her or jealous of her because of him; which is in no way true. Many times, black men malign and berate black women by spewing negative and untrue statements about us to the point where any man who would be interested in us has to wade through all the crap to get to the real woman. Many men of other races just give up or refuse to even try because they believe that we’re truly what they’ve heard. To listen to some black men, we are too fat, too bitchy, too mean, too inhibited, too independent and just too, too , too. This is tantamount to spitting in their own mother’s face because someone had to love her in order for his sorry behind to be here. Sadly, no matter how many times a white man dates or marries outside of his race, I’ve NEVER heard any of them malign or destroy the reputation of white women. You NEVER hear them say that white women are too skinny, too fat, too manipulative, too needy, too gold digging, too deceptive or too anything. They make their choices and live their lives with those choices. They don’t feel the need, as many black men do, to destroy their women so no one else wants them. It seems to me, that black men don’t want us, but they do all they can to make sure no one else will either. While they go on about their business dating whomever they want, we’re stuck back here fighting lies and stereotypes before we can even move forward and began considering mates of other races. I saw a guy on youtube one day explain his reason of why black women may get upset or be bothered by a black man dating interracially.
