STEVE HARVEY
Steve Harvey began doing stand-up comedy in the mid-1980s, which eventually led to a long stint as host of “It's Showtime at the Apollo.” His success as a stand-up comedian led to multiple TV sitcoms, including: “Me and The Boys” on ABC from 1994-1995, “The Steve Harvey Show” on the WB from 1996-2002 and “Steve Harvey Big Time Challenge” on the WB from 2003-2005.
Throughout his television success, Harvey never lost sight of his true passion for stand-up comedy. In 1997 he continued touring as one of the Kings of Comedy alongside Cedric The Entertainer, the late Bernie Mac and D.L. Hughley. The immediate success of the tour led to the taping of one of the most successful comedy DVDs in history – “The Original Kings of Comedy” – directed by Spike Lee. In 2006 he released “Don’t Trip…He Ain’t Through With Me Yet,” a clean and family friendly DVD, unlike any he had ever done before. Due to the overwhelming demand for his original style of cutthroat and tell-it-like-it-is comedy, Harvey released a brand new comedy special on DVD entitled “Still Trippin” – in stores now.
Currently Harvey hosts the nationally syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show, which airs in over 64 markets and has over 7 million listeners from 6-10 AM EST.
The morning show has also allowed him to share relationship advice with his listeners through the “Strawberry Letter” segment, where he responds to relationship questions. This segment’s popularity led to a book deal with Harper Collins.
His first book Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man was released on January 27, 2009. The widely-acclaimed book is Harvey’s ultimate guide to unlocking the male mind, understanding his game, anticipating his moves and countering with unstoppable offense and defense. Harvey has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Nightline, Good Morning America, The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Tyra Banks Show, CBS’ The Early Show, NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien, CNN Newsroom, The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet and several others to discuss HIS #1 NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLING BOOK!
