Boost Immunity While Detoxing and Social Distancing

By Roni DeLuz ND, RN, Ph.D

Did you know that you can clean up your body, lose weight, and enhance your immune system simply by giving the body small doses of powerful nutrients throughout the day? It’s a great opportunity to get healthy while you are at home social distancing.

Detoxing means different things to different people and there are many ways to detox. For me, it simply means giving your body a rest and a chance to clean up. Detoxing helps get rid of the myriad chemicals, toxins, and bad food in your body. Removing toxins from our bodies is one way to maintain vibrant health. A body overloaded with toxins can cause many symptoms, such as stomach bloat, poor digestion, skin problems, fatigue, weight gain, thinning hair, unpleasant body odor, depression, headaches, inflammation, edema, low libido, and more.

It’s a time to reflect and allow physical and emotional toxins to be released from our body, mind, and soul. Start the 21 Pounds in 21 Days Detox while you are at home on self-quarantine.

21-Day Detox Schedule

Follow this daily.

Start whenever you wake up and drink your nutrition every two hours.

9am: 8 oz of Antioxidant Berry Cocktail with 8 oz of water (hot with tea, or cold), recipe below
11 am: 8 oz Green Drink + 6 oz water (this product must be purchased in a high density powder or you may juice your own green veggies with a juicer)
1pm: 8 oz Immune Power Broth, recipe below
3 pm: 8 oz Lemon Caramel Antioxidant Drink, recipe below
5pm: 8-10 oz of Home-made soup, take 1 food enzyme and 1 probiotic with soup.  Use your any veggie soup recipe from a cookbook or use the veggie combinations down below to make your own fun recipes!
7pm: 1 oz Aloe Vera gel before bedtime and 8 oz of water

Throughout the day you can drink the cleansing broth left behind from your daily soup at night. Keep the broth for the next day and keep it warmed all day for you to sip on. Broth has plenty of nutrients and will keep you from feeling hungry.

Antioxidant Berry Cocktail

This cocktail promotes and maintains healthy blood sugar, cholesterol levels, urinary tract health, healthy gums, vital energy, and robust antioxidant power.

1 cup of each: (FRESH)
Cranberries
Black cherries
Blueberries
Blackberries

Blend with ¼ c water and Stevia to taste.

Green Drink Formula

If you have a juicer, this may be easier to juice than going out to your nearest health food store right now to find a quality green drink. Use broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, carrots, asparagus, spinach, garlic, and ginger. Find your own combinations to fit your tastes if you wish but the more green veggies you use, the better. They are all rich sources of sulforaphanes, which are associated with significant immune-strengthening properties. This drink provides key nutrients to support anabolic metabolism, energy production, and a healthy acid/alkaline balance.

The 5 Elimination Organs

1. Skin /Sweat Glands
2. Colon
3. Kidney
4. Liver
5. Lungs

These elimination organs are responsible for the strength of your immune system by helping to flush toxins from the body. Make sure to dry brush your skin during a detox, as the skin is the largest organ on the body. Use coffee enemas, herbal cleansers, and colonics to eliminate toxic residues that weaken the immune system. The liver and kidneys are complex detoxification organs assisting in keeping our blood clean and our Ph balanced. The lungs are another detox organ that releases toxins in the form of carbonic gas to help the body oxygenate.

Make Your Own Sanitizer

Since the stores are running out faster than we can blink, here is a recipe for you to make your own. Remember to use it often throughout the day especially before touching your face. You don’t need much to kill the bacteria, just a few drops on your hands should do it.
Add these essential oils to any carrier oil like coconut, almond, or grapeseed.

20 Drops of Tea Tree oil
30 drops of Lavender
10 drops of Eucalyptus
5 drops of Thyme

Skin Detox Bath

10 drops of tea tree oil
10 drops of eucalyptus oil
10 drops of lavender
1 cup of Himalayan salt
Add all to a warm/hot bath

This is a powerful anti-germ, antiviral, and anti-stress bath featuring calming lavender. Remember, oil and water don’t mix, and you can get burned if you are not careful, so always add your essential oils to salts or a carrier oil such as coconut oil, or grapeseed oil, almond oil etc.
