When I'm[...]“I’ve acted out my life on stages with 10,000 people watching, and we are alone and I’m singing this song for you.” Donny Hathaway wrote this song and as a little boy, I always imagined myself in front of 10,000 people. I’m one of the original Kings of Comedy and have told jokes in front of crowds bigger than that. I always had the dream but my family and friends did not. If I would’ve listened to them I wouldn’t be where I am now. Sometimes you just have to listen to yourself and follow your dreams.

It took me from comedian and radio show host and launched me into mainstream America. All of a sudden I was in everybody’s house. Then, the ‘Steve Harvey’ talk show, ‘Little Big Shots,’ ‘Show Time at The Apollo,’ ‘Miss Universe,’ ‘Fox New Year’s Eve,’ NFL… You have to have faith.
Your life is like a stock chart, stocks take dips so when your life takes a dip, it ain’t time to trip. It ain’t time to sell the stock. You have to remember, you are a blue-chip stock. You have no idea where God will take you on the next uptick. You just have to hang in there!
