I know the first thought is Laura Ingalls Wilder from Little House On the Prairie and that image isn’t exactly a sexy one. However, the prairie dress shouldn’t be overlooked. Ultra feminine is always on trend. High neck, texture mixing, ruffles, voluminous sleeves and skirts are in most cases walking art. This one-and-done can be worn edgy with sneakers or booties. Why not continue the feminine look throughout with a pump? My favorites are The Vampires Wife & Batsheva for a splurge, or budget friendly Zara and Other Stories offer gorgeous prairie dresses that are anything but frumpy and a whole lot of feminine fun.
I can make an argument for wrap dresses all day long. It’s highly functional, versatile, flattering on all silhouettes, slimming, and effortlessly sexy. Wrap dresses can transition from day to night, the office to a dinner, a wedding to a brunch. The options are limitless. DVF is the queen of wrap dresses and rightfully so. You simply can’t go wrong.
A shirt dress is typically a button up shirt long enough to be dress. This easy dress is a must. The shirt-dress used to be thought of as a casual dress to be paired with sneakers or sandals but you can take this dress to new heights. Adding a belt and heels for the office or over-the-knee boots for a fun night out.
The little black dress is elegant, classy and never out of style. Your LBD will save you in a pinch. Carrying you through most occasions it’s easy to re-style and repeat.
