Shop Like A Pro

Insiders guide to finding luxury for less

By Aonika Laurent Thomas

Shopping like a pro means not only knowing where to get the best deal on designer pieces, but knowing where (and how) to sell them.  The word I take with me when I go shopping is quality. Investing in timeless, quality pieces especially when it comes to shoes and bags. Quality is costly, but it doesn’t always have to be. There are ways to get top quality for a fraction of the price. One pro tip is to follow your favorite brands on Instagram. Deals are posted for faithful followers. Most items will go on sale to at least 40%. You just have to be perched, patient, and ready to pounce when the price falls. The savviest of shoppers sell the things they no longer like to get the things they want.

One of the best ways to get a great deal is through authenticated luxury consignment. It should be the first place you check for designer labels. Places like The RealReal make it so easy to sell and buy.  Selling? Simply request a consignment kit. The RealReal will send you a box including a prepaid shipping label. Place items in the box, they get authenticated, and then sold. Most items are sold within 3 days. The best part is that you get up to 85% of the sale price of your item. Pocket the cash or purchase from their enormous inventory – your choice. The RealReal has the most beautiful luxury items including clothing, shoes, and jewelry. Designers like Celine, Gucci, and Cartier to name a few. Check your closet. If you haven’t worn it in a year, you probably won’t. Someone else is waiting for your patent leather Jimmy Choo pumps. Give it up and get something you will wear.

Savvy shoppers don’t miss a chance to visit Moda Operandi.

I am obsessed. This is the destination to shop the latest designer fashion trends, pre- order looks off the runway, and shop designer collections. Not only do they provide free shipping and returns, the pièce de résistance… you don’t pay in full on pre-orders! The remaining balance is due when the merchandise is on its’ way to you! Yep, that’s right. What’s not to love? The designer sales on Moda Operandi are the best. I make out like a bandit on timeless quality, beautiful clothing, bags, shoes, and jewelry. Moda Operandi also spotlights new brilliant designers. Moda Operandi has one of the easiest websites to navigate and you can even get something for your favorite guy.

  3. I don’t even understand how I stopped up here, but I believed this post used to be
great. I don’t realize who you might be however certainly you are going to a well-known blogger should you aren’t already.
    Cheers!

  4. Please, don’t take what I’m about to say as shade because it isn’t meant to be. Just an observation. Those who can afford the luxury items you mentioned are already aware of where to find the discounts as they are the ones fueling those sites. My point is, even discounted they can and generally are, still very expensive. So, how doe’s that info serve the average buyer??
