The Power of Failure

No matter who you are or where you are in life, you’ve experienced failure. There’s been a time when something you tried didn’t work out, when you had a plan and it didn’t materialize, when you gave your all to a situation and the results weren’t what they needed to be.

Everyone has had to overcome personal and business failures. It’s a given. But there’s good news.

Failures are not fatal.

The mistakes and bad decisions that may have led you down the wrong path do not have to be your destiny. You have the ability to turn around and head in a new direction. The challenge is not letting your disappointment, blame, anger or bitterness keep you from doing what you need to do to get back on track.

How do you do that? Here are three important pieces of advice:

  1.  Learn the lesson.

Ask yourself what you learned from your failures. Pull the lessons out so you can avoid repeating them in the future.

  1.  Create new goals.

Goals based on where you want to go, not on where you are now. If you don’t like your current circumstances—in your career, finances, relationships—decide what you want them be and write it down.

  1.  Be willing to try again.

Don’t let what happened to you in the past keep you from taking action to create the future you want—and deserve.

  1. Thank you for this. I am in the process of writing my 3rd book and because of failure in sales of the first two, I’m a little hesitant at completing it. However I do understand and appreciate the gift of failure even though it still doesn’t remove the pain of the experience. Failure is indeed a part of success like the breakdown of a muscle to failure where it grows back bigger and stronger but only if rest and proper nutrition is included so Failure by itself can be detrimental except if one has a winners mindset.

  2. The Art of failure is a necessary function of life in that, if you fail to achieve it should not be due to a lack of effort. If you never try you will never succeed. For those of whom we practice governance over we must show positive reinforcement, trust, motivation, compassion, and enthusiasm as we groom them to one day take our place.

  3. I absolutely love this so much. I am definitely going to use this when I become a teacher – the power of failure.

  4. I am so impressed that failure in a new light is about how to fail to Succeed I will organize a presentation on the topic “The Power of Failure” and will need your support
