Walking In Your Purpose, Living In Your Gift

When the alarm clock goes off in the morning and you're not happy about it, you aren't doing what you want to do.

When the alarm clock goes off in the morning and you’re not happy about it, you aren’t doing what you want to do. Are you happy when it’s time to go to work? If you’re unhappy, you aren’t living in your gift. Bishop T.D. Jakes said, “I would hate to die and never do the thing that I was born to do…” Now is the time to re-evaluate, are you walking in your purpose? Are you living in your gift? Think about that! 1. Hi Steve. You’re right about it. But how to know our gift.?? And even when you know your gift, how to develop it when you know your family wants you to do something else.?? I’m kind of lost right now because I don’t know where to go.

  2. In the summer of 2017, I made the decision to sell everything I had and move to LA from Columbus, OH. I was living there after moving from my home town Bronx, NY because of college and post college I remained there.

After moving to LA, I spent all of 2018 focusing all my energy and efforts on my rap career. I poured everything I had and all my resources to make records, write them produce them and market them. Then 2018 comes to an end and it felt like so did my rap career pursuit. Things got really bad financially and long story short I am now waking up everyday working a job that literally has nothing to do with my purpose other than a check to lay the bills and simply barley.
I still believe I’m called to do this, I believe this is what I love to do because I was doing it for so long. And still doing it, just a much lower level than before and now simply working to get out of the whole I’m in before I can even get back to pouring time and resources to make this dream come true. This is my truth today.

  6. Steve is Right !
My gift is having a servants heart
    To give
    To take of others
    I wanted to teach children
Instead I followed what I thought would be BIG $$
No Being a Public Servant / A Govt employee isnt what I was called to do
    I hate it !
So after more than 30 yrs I’m retiring
Go do what I am called to do
    Teach others

  7. I agree, I am some what of a survivor. I do many things. And I do sing, I don’t know if I would pass at the Apollo , Although I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I basically Witness through song. I have written some, it requires some Background Singers. Have had thoughts of a Cafe as well, because I love to cook for people.

  8. Certainly is easy to say, but I tell you, it does take a whole lot of guts to do, and you know what? That’s also when ‘trust’ comes in – you’ve got to trust God to take you to the next step. But in order for Him to do that, you have to take the first step… that first step is what’s called FAITH.

    1. Wow, wow, wow! What if, the thing you love or are passionate about you aren’t the best at, but better than average at – so afraid to make that “jump”?
I know your answer will be – you have to make the jump. I watched that video by you last night. You have become not only a comedian, but in my eyes, very insightful and inspirational for sure. Because you are so funny, it makes your very serious and thought provoking material hysterical, engaging, entertaining and the mix of the 2 is, to me, the secret!!! ????‍????

  9. Hey Steve,
what if you don’t even know what you want at all, like you’re in your early twenties and you don’t have any idea what you want to be in your future, what career path you want to take, what you want your future to look like, what you’re passionate about, what do you do?

  10. Would like speaker or content from older people, who successfully deal with chronic pain or disability to continue to achieve.

    1. Thanks for the suggestion.

  11. Steve…I believe I may be finally walking in my purpose. After losing my job two years ago I was faced with either sitting around and feeling sorry for myself or trying something new. I always new that I loved creating things with my hands so I started making crafts and I joined a community arts club to get to know other people in my community. This year I started to paint with acrylic paint and shocked myself that I was not doing so badly with it. This weekend past I took part in a sale where I sold one painting and it made me so happy. I do know that you said one will fall on their face many times doing their gift and I am really hoping through that but I believe the encouraging words that you put out there and I pray that things will for us in the future. Thank you for your encouragement

  12. Steve eight years ago April fourth,I watched you on TBN when you were the key note speaker for the might. 16. Hello Steve

I just read your book Jump. It was very good. I am not sure what my purpose in life is but I’m trying to figure that out. I love god although in the past I struggle with my faith. He never gave up on me. It been a struggle the last 6 months due to an accident but I’m keeping my faith. Thanks again.

  17. Good morning to Mr. Harvey and his beautiful wife I want to say I thank God for you all I’m a big fan and would love to meet you in person but I hope one day I’m able to seat next you and tell you about my life and how you are an uplifting message in my life

  18. To all those individuals who are still wondering what their gift is, ask yourselves what brings you pure joy when you talk about it, are acting upon it, or exploring/experiencing it? Does it bring you peace inside? Are you passionate in that place or space in time? Does it matter deep down inside your soul? If you still do not know, explore life. Shadow others, read personal success stories, follow individuals stories on digital media, in those areas that may immediately draw your attention to their passion. Does it bring that spark inside? If you believe in a higher power/God, invite that power into your life to direct your life and guide you! Be patient! Your passion will show up and TRUST your gut or feeling in your soul! Your validation of your lifes purpose, will be peace!

  19. Hello I’m 42 year old single female who is alienated from her family homeless living out of my car in the state of Florida the friends that I have surrounded myself with decided that they did not want me around and that they have basically kicked me out of their lives. So I’m just tired of everything I’m tired of how my life is turned out and I’m just searching for inspiration so I can be uplifted I don’t know where to go from here

  20. Steve has been a true mentor for me. I am working on doing what I like to do most and that is painting. I get up every morning with a positive attitude, even when I am working in the most horrible conditions. I keep repeating. “I will make it” And I will!
