5 Things You Should Know About Brandi Harvey
Brandi believes in living with purpose, and her life is a beautiful example of that.
Here are five things you should know about Brandi Harvey:
1. She lives a vegan & holistic lifestyle.
Brandi is a proud vegan and has a holistic approach to life: she believes that the mind, body, and spirit are interconnected, and being healthy is a matter of keeping these aspects in balance. She is an advocate for this kind of lifestyle through her social media pages, proving that healthy living not only looks good, but feels good, too.
2. She founded Beyond Her.
As a product of intentional living, Brandi founded Beyond Her, with the mission “to bring active wellness to women of color in collaborative and transformative ways to elevate the mind, body and spirit.” She shares recipes, lifestyle, and exercise tips to help women live their best and healthiest life. You can subscribe to Beyond Her at beyondher.co and follow on Instagram @beyondher.co.
3. She has a passion for fitness and has participated in an NPC (amateur bodybuilding) competition.
Training, heart, and drive are just a few of the things that Brandi took away from her NPC (National Physique Committee) experience. Although she came in second place, she says that the real prize came from the process of competition preparation.
Ten years ago, I trained to do an NPC competition. I took home second place 🥈 but the keys and the tools I gained in the process were the real prize. I trained with the best competition trainer in Atlanta @rocshabazz and trained with some of the most bad ass, tough as nails women around. The mindset to win never left me. The drive to succeed never left me. The heart to keep getting back up never left. Keep going. Keep striving. Keep pushing BEYOND. The best is yet to come. @beyondher.co #tbt #beyondher #yepiworewigs #trustme #imhealthiernow #totalwellness #notnewtothis #truetothis #fitforlife

Not only does she mentor youngsters, but she also has the role of Chief Change Maker and Executive Director of the Harvey Foundation. Here she is in action as the Chief Change Maker, leaving the Harvey Foundation’s mark in Ghana:
Dr. Cynthia B. Dillard is my Professor and Mentor. So happy to have made this journey to Ghana with her and my fellow classmates. The work she is doing at this school is nothing short of amazing. I am honored to bear witness and support this work of transforming children. Great things are on the horizon. The #HarveyFoundation will leave its mark in Ghana and I am excited for what's to come. #lifeofachangemaker #UGA #StudyAbroad #Ghana #Africa #goldcoast #philanthropy
5. She’s a motivational speaker.
When she’s not busy with the foundation or Beyond Her, Brandi is often public speaking at a variety of events for woman and young ladies. Here she is speaking about the importance of being who God has called you to be at Princeton University:
I had the pleasure of speaking at Princeton University yesterday for the #AtTheWell Leadership Intensive for 10th and 11th graders. This is my 5th year participating and it never loses its joy. I love teaching Women and Girls. Part of my message was: Be the Difference Maker. God is calling us to be the difference makers. Stepping away from the crowd, breaking away from the pack will be a defining moment in our lives. We have the power to change the world but there are some things that are required of us. We have the examples before us, but are we willing to do the work and make the sacrifices to become our highest self. God is calling this generation of girls and women to be greater. Thank you Rev. Jackie Glass for trusting me. Thank you girls for listening and learning. 📹: @lexichristinaaa #lifeofachangemaker #justdothework #GodsWork #changetheworld #blackgirlmagic #teacherlife
