Spirit

Don’t Be Afraid. Have Faith.

Let me tell you something—fear is a liar.

I ain’t just talkin’ about that jittery kind of fear you get when you watch a scary movie. I’m talkin’ about that deep, silent fear that creeps in when life throws you into the unknown. That fear that tells you you’re not enough. That you won’t make it. That it’s too late.

Let me be real with you—I’ve been there. Broke, homeless, sleeping in a car. I wasn’t some overnight success. I was an “every night” struggler. But through it all, I kept a little something in my back pocket called faith.

Now look, faith don’t mean you got it all figured out. Faith don’t mean the storm ain’t comin’. It just means you believe something greater is on the other side. Faith is the bridge between where you are and where you’re supposed to be.

Faith Ain’t Pretty—It’s Powerful

People think faith is this perfect, pretty thing. Nah. Faith is ugly crying in your prayer closet. Faith is submitting resumes after 99 rejections. Faith is starting that business when you got more doubt than dollars.

When I first hit the stage to do stand-up, I was terrified. But I knew I couldn’t let fear have the final word. So I prayed. I trusted. I bombed a few times, too. But I kept going. And now look—TV shows, radio, books, and standing on stages I used to dream about.

Not ’cause I was the best. But because I believed. Because I had faith that if God gave me the vision, He’d make provision.

Fear is Loud. Faith is Quiet.

Fear will scream all day in your ear. “You’re not good enough!” “You’re too old!” “You missed your shot!”
But faith? Faith whispers.
“Try one more time.”
“Get up.”
“Keep going.”

You gotta learn to quiet the noise and tune into that whisper. That whisper is where your breakthrough lives.

Don’t Be Afraid to Start Over

Some of y’all are scared to start over. Let me tell you something—starting over doesn’t mean you failed. It means you’re brave enough to try again.

I didn’t get my first break on national TV till I was in my late thirties. So if you’re 40, 50, or even 60 and feeling like it’s too late, I need you to erase that lie right now. As long as you breathing, God’s still working.

What You’re Praying For is Waiting on You to Move

Don’t just sit there saying, “I’m waiting on God.” Sometimes… God’s waiting on YOU.
Take the first step. Open the laptop. Make the call. Write the plan. Post the video. Start the journey.

Faith without works is dead, baby.
But when you combine that faith with action? Woo! That’s when doors start flying open.

Final Word: It’s Already Handled

Let me leave you with this—
Whatever you’re going through right now, whatever mountain you’re looking at, I want you to say this out loud:
“I ain’t afraid. I’ve got faith.”

And don’t just say it. Walk in it.
Smile like it’s already handled.
Move like the blessing is already yours.
Live like the breakthrough is already behind the next “yes.”

You’ve made it this far—don’t quit now.
Because faith?
Faith will carry you where fear never could.

  3. I want to relapse, I’m 34 and life seems pointless, I’m 4 months sober. But I also stutter which limits my possibilities of success. Ive failed at being a parent And it seems I’ll always resort to sin. I’ve been on a faith journey and keep letting Jesus down. He doesn’t deserve this from me. I’m lost and don’t know if being found is worth it anymore

  4. Thank you so much for sharing. I’m 54 years old and will turn 55 years old next month. I lost my job back in October 2022. It first I was looking for a job but than I slipped further into depression and I’ve dealt with anxiety most my life it just got worse. I’ve watched your TV show, Family Feud and some your comedy shows. I look up to you. You’re a great man, husband, father and grandfather. What I like about you is your down to earth. Ready to share your faith to anyone who listening. Thank you again. Take care and God bless.

  7. This post is so on point and meaningful as it relates to the road travelled at this point of the journey. Truth be told, couple days ago a close trusted friend and I were discussing how we overcome fear by reminding ourselves of God’s presence and power based on what is written and remembering His actions on our behalf in the past and present. Honestly, thank you so much Mr Harvey for this, you have no idea, no idea how timely in my walk this is. Grateful Fan
