Don’t talk yourself out of your God-given gifts, it’s your path to wealth.
In 1991 I was sleeping in my car, I had $35 to my name, everything I had could fit into two bags. I started talking to God about my dreams… Fast forward, out of nowhere I get a call from The Apollo asking me to come on the show. That same night I met D.L. Hughley, and Jamie Foxx for the first time. We were all comedians that went on that night. This is my Apollo story and how I became the host. This was my turnback moment.
Everybody has a turn back moment, it’s the moment you can either go forward or give everything up. There’s one guarantee if you give up it will never happen. Faith is everything, God is always on time, he’s never too late.
Tell me about your push through moments. What has kept you going?
My mother would tell me, “faith comes from hearing, not from having heard.” We all have turn back moments, the key to not turning back is pushing through.
Ask God for Something Big!
One thing about me is that I’ve always been resilient. I’ve never been afraid of reinventing myself, here’s the key… When somebody closes the door in your face. All you have to remember is when God allows them to close a door in your face all God wants you to do is walk up the hall.
If you wake up every day and say you’re not a morning person, you’re doing a serious disservice to yourself. Because your attitude determines your altitude. I made a change and it changed my life.
It all happens at an appointed time, but you have to stay in faith for the appointed time to happen for you. God has got a great life for you. I’m telling you, God got a plan for you that’s so out of sight it will trip you out. All you got to do is ask Him for it and wait on it and be willing to work.
Do you know that you can’t think of something that can’t happen? You know, it’s impossible to think of the impossible? So, if you think it is possible… and if you live your life in possibilities. Instead of probabilities, you have a greater chance of happiness. Never live your life in probability.
I never let my failures define me. When you make a mistake just get up and go again. What you trippin’ for? My father used to tell me you’re going to either get over it or die mad. You got two choices.
Your mistakes don’t define you. Just keep living, keep waking up in the morning. I’m Ephesians 3:20 all day long. I expect God to do exceedingly and abundantly overall I think or ask because I honor Him. His blessings will chase me down and overtake me.
What are you waiting for? If you don’t jump you can’t be successful!
