Most people don’t understand the steps that it takes to be successful. It takes a long time to make a lot of money. People look at my success now but miss the broke and homelessness part of my life. Keep your head up and reach your goals.
Joy and depression can not reside in the same place. The way to get rid of darkness is with light. You can’t get rid of darkness with more darkness. Gratitude produces joy. Go down the list of everything that you could be grateful for and see how that changes your life. Gratitude produces joy.
What we all need to do on our path to success is determine our strengths and weaknesses. I talk about the tale of the tape in my book Act Like a Success, Think Like a Success. It’s a term that comes from boxing where fighters are measured with a tape measure before a fight. It’s an analysis of each boxers’ physical stats. We need to make a tale of the tape of ourselves. We all need to know how to manage our strengths and weaknesses. You can’t give your best if you don’t know what your best is.
I had been praying to God in 2015 to increase my global brand and persona. I wanted to go global. That was my prayer. After the Miss Universe competition, I became the biggest idiot in the history of television. But guess what happened… 48 hours later. I was the most Googled person in 10 years. 4 BILLION impressions in 48 hours. I was the most globally famous person on planet earth. I DID NOT LIKE THE ROUTE, I thought God was very unfair… but he gave me what I asked for.
The problem with disappointment is that if you don’t understand it… things can turn so ugly so fast. Too many people allow disappointment to turn into resentment. You have no idea how many times I’ve heard NO. They don’t know what God really has for you, no need to hold resentment. Watch how this worked out for me.
Comedy is a hard business… My office used to be a microphone, mic stand, bar stool, and a glass of water. By the grace of God, I turned this into a career. At one point in life, you have to JUMP! You CAN NOT play it safe your whole life.
Fear cripples you on so many levels… Let me tell you what you can do to overcome whatever fear you’re facing. You have to move past this and get to your dreams.
Quitting guarantees failure. Once God wakes you up, that’s a sign from God… that he ain’t through with you yet. Quitting is not an option.
The possibilities in your life are endless.
Life ain’t luck. Life is hard work, faith, and grace. Faith without works is dead. You just keep the faith and work hard. Then ask God for as much grace as he can give you.
