I told the same $25 a night jokes over and over until they paid me $250, then $25,000, $75,000, $125,000, $500,000… $58,000,0000 with the Kings of Comedy in one year!
Repetition is how I became successful. I told those same jokes until I built an empire and a lifestyle beyond my wildest dreams! Never give up!
The #1 blessing blocker is a lack of gratitude. A lot of people want to be rich but they don’t want to go through the process of getting there. You have to be grateful for making $50,000, $75,000… a lot of people are mad because they aren’t a millionaire. If you stay mad you’ll never get there. Why? Because there is a principle of success that requires gratitude. The more you’re grateful for the more God will give you. Learn this principle and watch how your life will change.
Rich people think different, it’s all a mindset. I’m going to put a rich person’s concept in your head. “The multiples of 10.” You can become a millionaire with what you have. All of you have what it takes to become rich, you just don’t believe it. Your gift is the answer if you don’t know how to identify or use your gift watch me explain the “the multiples of 10.”
God doesn’t reveal your path to you. He gives you a vision of what it could look like but not the route. If he did you’d probably turn around. You would probably quit if you knew what you had to get through to get to where he had for you to go. Just look at my story, severe stuttering problem, homeless, slept in my car for 3 years… It’s no way I would have quit my job to do comedy if I knew I would have to go through all that I did to get to where I am today. I would’ve never quit my job. God doesn’t show you all that, he just gives you the dream and if you are bold enough to chase the dream he’ll get you through the journey. Don’t quit in the middle of the journey, God is in the making dreams come true business. God made it happen for me and he’ll make it happen for you.
There is a way that you can have the life of your dreams. You have to learn the principles of success and I’m going to give them to you.
One decision cost me everything I had at one time in my life. I lost everything, my family, friends, became homeless, lived in my car for 3 years. BUT I had a vision and I pursued it. The first time that I walked into Hilarities Comedy Club at 27 years old and won amateur night, I knew this was the thing I wanted to do for the rest of my life. You have to take chances in life, if you don’t take chances in life you’ll never have the life God has for you.
God is the provider of everything. If it wasn’t for my faith, I wouldn’t be standing here today and I’m a hood cat. If you don’t have the strength, God has it. Ask him for it. A pastor once told me “Joy and Depression can not reside in the same space.” I was at my worst and these words brought me back.
God didn’t bring you this far to leave you. Why do you think he keeps waking you up? Because he has more for you. God has plans for you but he needs your faith. Be inspired with the Top 10 countdown from my #Motivated series.
The best things in life are on the other side of fear. How do you overcome fear? DREAM BIGGER!! Read that again. Stop thinking that your life is over because you’re a certain age or you aren’t where you want to be in life. You’re never going to get where you want to be in life if you give up. God’s will is that you prosper. God is able to bless you abundantly.
Most people don’t have what they want because it isn’t written down. Habakkuk 2:2 says “Write the vision and make it plain.” But remember, “FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD.” After you’ve written down what you want. DO THE WORK.
In 1991 I was sleeping in my car, I had $35 to my name, everything I had could fit into two bags. I started talking to God about my dreams… Fast forward, out of nowhere I get a call from the Apollo asking me to come on the show. That same night I met D.L. Hughley, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Jamie Foxx for the first time. We were all comedians that went on that night. This is my Apollo story and how I became the host. This was my turnback moment.
Everybody has a turn back a moment, it’s the moment you can either go forward or give everything up. There’s one guarantee if you give up it will never happen. Faith is everything, God is always on time, he’s never too late.
