Soul is my understanding of music. Soul is also my swagger, how I handle pressure, and how I handle haters – it all comes from soul music.
Hate is louder than love, but love is stronger than hate. If you focus on those who love you, you can blow over the haters. Most people hate you only because of the way other people love you.
God has a great life for you. But you’re going to have to ask for it. After you ask for it, you’ve got to believe it. You’re going to have to work for it. Looking for success? Ask, Believe, Work – there’s your formula. Keep the faith, keep believing, keep asking God.
God’s grace is so good. If it were not for God’s grace, I wouldn’t be here talking to you right now. My momma would always say “when it gets dark for you, and you can’t find your way. Don’t forget to pray, don’t be ashamed and don’t be too proud.” I’ll never forget her words…
I was told that I would never be NOTHING. I don’t care how dark it looks to you. I don’t care what anybody has said to you. I don’t care what verdict is, what the haters say… Prayer changes things.
I asked Joshua and Chaz to help me tell some of my life stories. This one is about some of the challenges in my life, I call it dirt. When you get some dirt on you, use it like fertilizer and grow from it. Being successful ain’t easy, but just like an oak tree that grows from an acorn – get used to the dirt… that’s what it takes to be an oak tree. That’s what it takes to be successful.

I met Joshua at a Family Feud taping with his mom. During breaks, I take Rapid Fire questions from my audience. His mom asked me “What advice do you have for a SCAD graduate?” He probably expected me to say something like… work hard and network… but instead, I gave him an opportunity to work with my team after I found out that he studied animation. You can’t get where God is trying to take you because you trying to take everybody else with you.
My Daddy told me “everybody that come with you, can’t go with you.” If you are hanging out with people that’s holding you back, you need to shed the dead weight. You can’t keep dragging people around with you.
You are the captain, the master, the foreman, the general, you’re the head. Don’t give away your power to anyone, especially the devil. Do not let Satan get in your head and function because he has one mission and that’s to keep you off course and to make you think that nothing is possible… that God doesn’t hear you. You need to listen to this, stay on course.
Everybody wants two things out of life… success and happiness. Both are available to anyone who wants it. You have to change your MINDSET. Want to know the difference between successful people and non-successful people? YOUR MINDSET! God gave y’all the same thing he gave me.
“God blesses you to become a blessing.” I did it without an education, I did it without anybody’s money… All I did was identify my gift, I worked, I wrote all of my visions down. I read them every morning and every night. Talk to God, these are the keys to success.
When I was young, I didn’t understand my gift. I would get in trouble all the time ????????????I stayed in the principal’s office! You know how many times my momma had me prayed for??? Do you know how many Preachers my momma had to lay hands on me??? ????????????
There is no school for comedy, you can’t take a class and come out funny. This is the one gift that you have to purely be born with. All of you are gifted, God never made a person he didn’t give a gift to. You just have to figure it out.
